Even the air is crisp and damp when he inhales a breath. For the space of one moment, Cain wonders if he's been returned back to that dream-world, plunged into the disorienting nature of wilderness and left to fend for himself.
But he's not alone, Abel's body is warm and close by, and the movement of him shifting to stand manages to root Cain back into the reality of this moment. Or the simulated reality. He hasn't experienced much of VR up to this point, but now he recalls their conversation about it when they were still stranded in New Tokyo.
He rises dizzily to his feet, gaze spanning the panoramic view over the guardrail.]
