[checking the time, prompto knows that it's daylight--that the sun should be up by now, but only a little bit of light filters through the canopy, lighting up the place in the eerie green and yellow hue as vegetation grasps for some spotlight in the sun. no matter, it just comes to show how untouched the place is. there's more active movement around him, but it never seems to approach the perimeter of the fire.]
[and so prompto stands, stretching his arms high, before heading towards the tent to wake up the other two. it's best they set out as early as possible, try and avoid tumbling about in the dark if they can help it.]
[it doesn't take long to gear up--set everything back in their bags--and prompto has taken the opportunity of more light to take pictures with his actual camera.]
[he brings it down from his face, then back up, zooming in.]

[there's a curious creature, six-eyed, hanging around not too far from camp. it seems to be watching them. the fact that it looks amphibian and has six eyes is already alarming enough for prompto. he's quick to turn back to the girls and announce what he's seen, pointing it over and having the salamander slowly blink six golden eyes.]
[trying to get close only makes it squander away, and it seems a fool's errand, but they're off following it anyway, soon reaching an area with what looks like a burnt path.]
Shit! [prompto's pretty quick on his feet, reaching the spot he had last seen the salamander at, arms swinging around as he turns on his feet.] Lost it.
[it's when the grips at the straps of his bag that he notices what he is standing on.]
