[ cassian doesn't trust this place for one hot minute. everything about it is too good to be true, literally. it's too perfect to exist without a cost, even beyond the idea of the earth and new amsterdam being destroyed. rather than enjoy it, because he doesn't know how to enjoy anything, it's easy to fall into the routine of investigation. he and jyn begin with a focus on spinetail itself, joined swiftly by others as the days go by. ]

[ there's a woman sleeping in the bed beside him; they're both fully clothed, and he thinks he would remember sex, but he's feeling too awkward about it so he just... quickly climbs out of bed and flees the room. yeah, that checks out. ]
