[ the whole thing ate at him in a lot of ways: Judas' loss of choice and freedom, Cassius' determination for his friend back, and the knowledge that there had to be others involved in this. it feels like his strings are being pulled, much how he had been made to dance for a year under the direction of a cruel god. the stakes here seemed just as high, and he wasn't about to overlook a way to reclaim his own agency. ]
