When he doesn’t get an answer, Gabriel figures there’s nothing for him to do but sit on the table and wait for Johann to get back. Even in his addled state, he’s analyzing the room for potential exits that don’t involve his implant. He comes up mostly empty, but he feels better making contingency plans in his head. He could certainly kill Johann with only the stuff in this room and his own brute strength, he thinks, if it comes down to that.
Of course, that would leave him with no implant and no way to get out. Maybe Jack would have the sense to come rescue him, but there’s no guarantee Jack is even alive.
Luckily, he doesn’t get the chance to stew on that thought for too long, because Johann returns after what seems like a relatively short period of time.
