Johann beckons him over and sits him in the chair. He begins to hum The Beatles' Hey Jude as he puts the binders in place. He goes through the motions of finding a vein, inserting the IV and tapping the pipe. The drugs, at least, seem to kick in quickly. It's a little hazy, gleeful and sensation all but melts away. Johann's humming seems both far away and close, resonating like an echo.
Johann gets his instruments ready, then says: "And how are we doing now? Still feeling stubborn?" He stands above him with a device that resembles a drill.
