Yeah, using the cue to skip over other balls, get impossible angles, that sort of thing. There's actually some math and probability involved, but that's all kind of ... boring.

[ Not boring to him or he wouldn't have mentioned it, but he assumes most other people would think that it is. Quentin's used to utilizing math in the strangest of circumstances; it's required for magic where he's from. But he's focused on the other part. Okay, she seems to know what he talks about, so he smiles reassuringly at her. ]

No, it's ... um. If you're really new and sort of from a normal world, this is going to be a lot, but I don't know how to word around it. When we touch, we feel each other's feelings, it's an empathy bond. Brief, but we also light up when we do, which is very conspicuous.

[ Quentin knows this will sound insane to anyone not used to magic or supernatural occurrences so he hopes for her sake it won't be one of those situations, because otherwise it's a real culture shock on top of another one. ]
