[Interesting, it doesn't sound like a J sound, but she believes him. It's not as if the E is openly obvious in her name either, thus why she adds it.]

Jónsson, nice to meet you. [She pronounces it perfectly, as it's the least she can do under the circumstances. It wouldn't do to mistake it for a new friend. And Hawke tends to see most people as potentially new friends, or at least allies. Or at least people who might not try to kill her today. It's a low bar.]

It was a city like this, yeah, although smaller. More of a giant port, bustling with life and all kinds of people coming in and out on ships. Not at all a beautiful place, but it's sort of what we loved about it.

[She'd say that New Amsterdam has some genuinely beautiful parts to it, which she's vaguely glanced at, but Kirkwall was never that. If anything it was like putting makeup on a pig. It was always going to be dirty and barely stitched together no matter how much they dressed it up. The Chantry was likely the only truly lovely landmark, and well, that was destroyed.]

It was a city of pirates, rogues, and merchants. [She smiles over at him.] So you know, fun and uncivilized. How about you?
