[Hawke doesn't know how to stop fighting, and not in the heroic sense, where people say they'll fight for justice or for innocence or for one cause or the other. She's just always fighting something, someone, in motion, in action, incapable of laying her weapons down. She used to joke that she was running off into oblivion so she could retire, but instead she went to the roads and to investigate the wardens.

Thinking about Varric's grief is far more upsetting to her than her own death. No one really understands the bond that exists between them, as if where one ends the other begins, and she can't imagine going on without him. And in that world he had to go on without her.]

Aren't you glad I didn't end up the Inquisitor though? Throwing myself into martyrdom so quickly!
