[it's a very general summary of Anders and doesn't take in all the details about him that's more complex, the parts of him that make him kind and thoughtful. And the memories of that version of him only made it all hurt more. But in the end, that is what he is. She understands the steps that took him there, she knows the plight of the mages, but it still was wrong. She sees Clarke's knowing look and there's this moment of simpatico. They both know what that particular struggle is like.

Hawke is mostly joking about the gender, if she met a man that appealed to her she'd probably flout her statement, but she worries that she'd just be thinking about Anders. Pretty much the exact problem this girl might have been in the midst of. So she'd be a hypocrite. Or maybe she's not giving herself credit. He might haunt her heart but he doesn't own her body.]

Ohhhhhh. [Alright, yeah, that makes sense. A first time is already a little awkward, but if there are hangups it makes it worse. It's a bit sad in that light. Sad to feel something enough to get there, but be held back. Hawke nods as she listens, tapping a finger to her chin thoughtfully.]

There are parts of my world where it's very much frowned upon, two people of the same gender. Mostly the nobles and mages though, they want the marriage and kids for the next generations and all.

[She makes a face.] My mother's from one of those families. She never pressured me or anything, but I am fairly certain she was hoping for a little Hawke. [Which was a very strong never.]

Are you at peace with that part of yourself? I've always been with both genders.
