Hunter would have been better at this, Ephemera thinks. The captain would have known what to say and how to say it. Gotten right to the core of the issue and made it seem like something that could be conquered, even if it had to be done in steps. Hunter's long dead, though, and while Ephemera used to be good at talking with people, making friends and that shit, he never quite got a handle of offering advice.

"Different tricks for different situations," Ephemera agrees. "There's always something."

He doesn't offer his own. That feels like a step too far.

"Yeah?" He tips his head to the side. Wonders, but doesn't ask. "It's a good skill to have. But you can ask, if you need stuff from people here. Most of them are solid."
