[ they always end up bantering during battle, it's not either one of them's fault that battle is second nature, that watching each other's backs occasionally slips into simply watching them fight. he ducks in to kiss her without hesitation as soon as she asks, barely giving himself time to process that they're technically in public and she wanted it anyway. ]
