championofsnark: (well I'm not sure)

my brain has returned to life I'm so sorry ignore me if it's too late!

Apparently so. (Hawke sighs and shrugs.) It's odd, how many things are actually universal. I've learned that here. We're from different worlds but some things really are the same. Which is bad or good, depending on if familiar is worth having.

(It's one thing to have good things in common like family or friends or camaraderie, or understanding the madness of what situation they're in so it's less of a panic. But yeah, people being fearful slugs, not as much.)

It's a bit of a vicious cycle, honestly, where I'm from. People are taught to fear mages so they're more or less jailed. Being jailed or treated unjustly makes mages pissed off so they act out. The acting out proves they're dangerous. On and on.

(Hawke's sympathies are with the mages since she just noted that her family has them, but it doesn't mean she lacks awareness of the other side. Magic is intense. Her mother was killed by a blood mage. She knows it's complex when it'd be easier if it was simple.)

You're taking this all well considering it's a bit of a nightmare. Used to odd things?
