Total horseshit. He knows as well as any other self-respecting Quarry participant that the chance of retirement from that sort of lifestyle was between slim and none. It was the reason why there were always so many new fighters each time-- the turnover rate was exponentially high. Besides, even if he was one of the lucky ones who made it out time and time again, he could never escape from this life, not really. It was too ingrained in him, as much a part of him as his brown hair and his good looks and his penchant for diffusing uncomfortable situations with humor.
