[ she can't see exactly what harley's been doing, but she can hear it and has caught some of it in her peripheral. it's clear that what she lacks in training, mass, and strength she makes up for in adaptation and improvisation (and her willingness to use a weapon). it's pretty impressive, in any case.
it's weird, but she could swear she could feel the way harley's taking out the people behind her, like there's something vibrating beneath her skin. she chalks it up to adrenaline, not really noticing that the implant is starting to faintly glow blue underneath her shirt.
she looks over the people harley's left on the ground, a little relieved to find none of them dead but more relieved to find they're all down for the count. she smiles, but it kind of freezes on her face when she realizes that while the buzzing feeling's subdued, it's still present and she doesn't know why.
it gets a lot stronger as the last guy she'd taken out, the one she'd sent flying with a busted wrist, starts stalking towards them with one more guy in tow. harley can probably see them, but max can feel them, and she turns with her hands in a defensive position. before either can get too close, and even before she can close her hands into fists, she can feel energy expelling through her, like it's built up and has nowhere to go but out, exploding from her outstretched hands in a blast that knocks both guys out cold.
max's eyes widen in horror and she stares at their knocked-out forms, splayed along the concrete with the rest of their friends, and then down at her hands. it's only then that she notices the glow emanating from her chest. ]
