The Kestrels inside the Aerie had powers, and they showed up like that. Glowing gold eyes.

[Ellie glances at him, to the side. She's not sure if he was a Kestrel or not. They weren't exactly forthcoming about who was a part of them. After a moment's hesitation, she steps closer, asking in a soft undertone.]
