[Jus drein jus daun. Blood must have blood.

It was the belief that guided Lexa's people, even when they were divided in times before her coalition. They believed that they needed to keep up the cycle of violence to ensure that their enemies would know what might come their way. But the truth was that it was only violence begetting more violence.

Clarke had judged it. Had pleaded against it. Had turned hypocritical about it. Hell, she's gone back and forth about what's right and what isn't when it comes to that mindset. She's been in his shoes. But she knows that way lies problems, especially here, especially in this world.

He's only just arrived, though. She knows something like that takes time.

So, she moves on with him. Follows his line of inquiry.]

There's proof, but nothing I can give on one meeting. [Clarke had tried to use that proof, using her ties to gods like Thor and Loki, to explain what she saw. It didn't mean she liked it or wanted it to be true. It simply seemed to be that way.] The best I can show you right now is the empathy bond—the transference of emotion when we touch. My power isn't one I can easily display, and I don't like to use it.

[Much of that is tied up in her own self-hatred for herself, as well as what it says about her when she uses it. But some things can be kept to herself. They have been this far.]
