Perhaps so. You don't think they'd all be that way, then? [The Shrikes inside of the Aerie were a mixed bunch. Some believed in the letter of the law. Others simply worked with their parliament members to aid them in whatever agenda they had in place. Akechi was selfish, and truly not so different from his actual self. He was aiding a powerful person for goals they were attempting together. The difference was in one specific place: he actually had no intention of turning on Loki.
The rest was similar enough, what with Of course, Akechi has told no one here that his "detective" gig was him playing a game. He had to do enough actual detective work on the side, and he also knows he has the skill. So, even if he was a fraud, he's confident enough in what he does. But would Lance feel the same way? Hard to say. And he has no reason to expose it, anyway.]
I would think they were given an objective to follow if we ever approached. We're to force their hands. But that could only be guesswork. They do seem to be a touch more human than the soldiers we had opposing us before. [Though that may be because of the circumstances. How long until these former Shrikes lose a grip on themselves because of the demands of this fucked up world?]
