[ She doesn't catch the middle of the phone call or even the tail end of it. By the time she reaches the safehouse, it's likely already got its hands full with some β if not all β of the new arrivals. Things have shaken up in the city since her own transport in late August but it's the past few hours that have been the most unsettling and concerning: the events in New Tokyo and the dream (nightmare?) that followed it. Preceded it? Happened simultaneously. She can't quite parse the timing and for now, she's brushing it off as coincidence or something she ate at the festival.

Gaby, [ she says softly, but not without gravity or concern. They've worked a little more closely together by now so she doesn't hesitate to ask: ] What do we know about New Tokyo?
[ Because they can't trust what stories they spin and statements they issue on the news. Because Morningstar has eyes and ears everywhere β she hopes. ]
