[ he just puts all his attention on these potatoes, because even if he's making them a little spicier he still wants them to taste good. they already smell delicious, and he likes channeling his gross feelings into an outlet like aggressively frying food. ]

[ since daisy has the beer situation covered, she grabs a glass to fill with ice and water for cassian since he is busy with the food still and ice water is still a treat. which is really sad honestly. ]

[ daisy specifically doesn't read into the ice thing (because she's not paying that much attention) but she does obnoxiously lean into cassian's personal space by peering over his shoulder, reaching out with greedy fingers clutched around a fork to spear an in-progress potato out of the pot and pop it into her mouth.

a huffed exhale betrays the heat he's imparted, but there's no complaint in it. just ... woof, that's a spicy meat-a-ball. (potato. whatever.) ]

[ he doesn't outwardly stiffen, mostly because he's good at hiding that sort of thing, but. ugh! people in his space!! whomst are not jyn! ]

We will have bread if you really need it. [ said with the air of 'why would you need it tho' because as far as cassian is concerned these potatoes are mild! ]

[ he will slowly build up all their tolerances and have them eating like champs. ]
