[ victoria murdering her father wakes gaby up. despite knowing it already happened, that isn't something gaby actually wants to keep reliving. she would prefer to wake up literally any other way.

the irony of waking up from his dream in a very similar manner is not lost on her. ]

[ gaby has watched him -- in a different body -- cut through dozens of people with his sister, soldiers and yakuza alike, and the answer should be an easy yes, please kill her. victoria dies, it won't change anything except the timing and even then it's a dream. victoria is already dead, it won't change anything, full stop.

but asking kovacs to kill someone for her, or accepting his offer, feels too far. she did not ask to dream about an ethical and existential crisis. ]

[ literally has already seen him kill people. and she assumes, that his father was the first person he killed based on everything she has learned about him so far. that doesn't mean she wants to be the reason he kills someone else. in a dream. when she is already dead in reality.

[ gaby's laughter tends to be a demure little puff of humor, but when he winks at her, she outright snorts, fingers lifting to pinch the bridge of her nose. he probably will not be bothered by the added violence. ]

[ she starts moving again, aiming to head halfway down the corridor and pause, waiting for victoria in the dim light. ]
