Ah, there's that again. Truthfully, it's been a while for Clarke since someone tried to compel her. Caroline did it ages ago (for her, especially), and since then, it's been a different story. A different situation. It helps that Caroline had been in a dream when it had (momentarily) worked in her favor.

But she recognizes it for what it is. Clarke's gaze remains steady, no pupils dilating with the accepted change, and she huffs out a breath.

"You won't have any luck." As far as she knows, the vampires maintain some of who they were, but she also knows that there's been a shift. Klaus' drinking habits are a big hint toward that. They've changed, but she hasn't been blunt enough to ask how or why.

"I have been meaning to speak with you. You're Klaus' brother." It's not stated as a question. "I'm Clarke, a friend of his."
