The fact that he looks down on her as she provides so much of it is a boon in her favor.

"You're mistaken about a critical piece of information," she says when he's finally done. "Klaus is as powerless here as any of us. No one's out to get his favor, and I certainly don't need it in order to survive. If you can move past that impression, we'll be able to get along just fine."
