If there's anything that Clarke's picked up on here, it's that immortals see time differently. Five minutes isn't a whole lot to one of them. In fact, it almost sounds like an insult, but he's accepted what she had to say for what it was. That's good. That's a start.

"Per the message I sent him before I approached you? New Beijing. It's on the other side of the world. He'd reach out, but—your identity. Circumstances. I doubt he's able to return right now."

Or willing. If she's grasped anything about Kol and Klaus' relationship, it's that it's incredibly hostile.

(She'll soon learn that it's a matter of "was" hostile.)
