[ He reaches up to brush her hair off her forehead -- it's long enough now it can almost get into her eyes. ]

[ that gets the last of the tension out of her shoulders, and a soft smile for wash. ]

[ There we go, Wash thinks, trailing his fingertips down her cheek. ]

I'd ask if you wanna make out, but we have company....

[ carolina lets out a soft huff of amusement, moving her arm enough to slip her hand under wash's shirt to rest on his side. ]

Is that supposed to deter us, somehow?

[ Wash smirks, even as he shivers a little at the skim of her fingers along his ribs. ]

I guess if he moves in we'll have to learn to be quiet.

We will. Think you're up to the challenge?

[ not now, necessarily, when she's still sore and worried about maine and wanting nothing more than to try to fall asleep next to wash sometime relatively soon, but some time. ]

Definitely. But not tonight, you need to rest.

[ He is going to kiss her again, but it's meant to be reassuring, not heated. ]

Should I be pillow or little spoon?

[ He knows his place. ]

[ carolina steals one more kiss, distinctly meant to be a good night one before she pulls back a little, gives wash space to move without jostling her. ]

Roll over.

[ which is to say he gets to be the little spoon tonight. ]

[ It's not the manliest cuddling position, but Wash likes it. He feels safe with Carolina at his back, so if that's how she'd be most comfortable he'll accept the goodnight kiss and roll over, waiting for her to snuggle against his back.

When her arm drapes over him he takes her hand and knits their fingers, closing his eyes. ]
