( it had been some years, admittedly, since he'd last seen hanna city and his memories have no doubt softened as a result. as a child he'd been less concerned with art, as well. and more interested in flying.

unfortunate, really. chandrila was one of the great hubs of the galactic core, second only to worlds like coruscant and naboo. none of which would welcome him now. )

Light was a favored medium, yes. ( and the aforementioned digital art would have fallen under this. ) But there were other kinds as well; my mother's world was known for its botanical art.

Botanical art?

[Markus' intonation lilts, interest clearly piqued. Sometimes he regrets how little he questioned Carl's knowledge of art; yes, he had been taught, he had learned by observing, but being too confined by what he thought were the rules of his own programming, Markus never had a chance to indulge himself beyond that. Never expanded his own awareness by questioning Carl's experiences.

Impossible to do it now. A grain of remorse that he can dwell on some other time.]

Large gardens, you mean? [Overlarge, vibrant botanical gardens? New Amsterdam had a handful of those, if he recalls correctly.]

( there was a story of a particularly bold artist that, upon hearing of the emperor's planned visit to the planet, had endeavored to create a work that would honor his arrival. it had gone about as well as you'd expect; the field had burned, the artist had been hunted, though never found. and eventually, alderaan was struck from the galactic map in one sudden and decisive blow. )

Alderaan had many large, grassy flatlands.
