[ many people have tried to slap him, only a few have succeeded. so, give it your best shot, gaby. ]
Are you asking me to punch someone for you? [ wow, what a gif you're giving him, gaby. ]
no subject
Well you don't have to stop at punching. [ punching is a springboard, but he can get his nazi murder on if he'd like. ]
The man I was with before, he is going to return soon with his wife. I'd hit her myself but I cannot reach.
[ victoria is an amazon. they're already on the way up from the docks, kovacs can probably hear them coming but gaby is a boring human. ]
no subject
[ not that he needs motivation but he'd like to at least know the reason behind punching the shit out of someone. ]
Just because you don't like her? Or you jealous or something?
no subject
[ or the über wealthy. she has a feeling he relates to that unspoken addition. ]
It has already happened, nothing will change.
[ maybe it will make her feel batter. ]
no subject
[ he's punched people for less. ]
Just point her out to me and I'll break her nose.
[ his christmas gift to you, gaby. ]
no subject
[ not only because they are maybe the only two women on the entire island, at least this part of the fortress. victoria vinciguerra is not a woman you don't notice, everything down to her silky perfume and impeccable eyeliner is meant to draw and keep attention, like a peacock.
alexander and victoria approach and gaby draws her father forward because some part of her insists on running through the motions of what actually happened. she wants to reach for kovacs but she ignores that particular urge. ]
no subject
it's pretty damn satisfying, if he's honest. he doesn't know her but he doesn't have to know her. what he does know is that he's definitely broken her nose and that's going to make this dream so much better than it used to be. ]
no subject
gaby's hands fly up to cover her mouth as she gasps but it ends up only stifling delighted laughter when she catches sight of victoria's bloody face. she wishes she could take a photograph of this to bring home to solo, but it's only a dream. alas she will have to relay it verbally.
alexander lunges for kovacs, but gaby sticks her leg out and down he goes, hitting the cement with a thud and a pained noise when his face also hits the cement. ah, refreshing. ]
She has a gun you may like to relieve her of, [ she adds, still looking pleased while victoria wobbles, disoriented and trying to stem the blood that drips down her chin and stains her pretty black and white dress. ]
no subject
[ whether or not she's talking to him, kovacs steps forward, pats her down, finds the gun and takes it, sticking it into the waistband of his pants before crossing his arms again.
he glances over at gaby, the slightest of smiles on his face. ]
Good enough for you?
no subject
she murmurs something to her father in rapid fire german and even though he looks at kovacs like he doesn't trust the man with his daughter, he moves off to follow her direction because she is a boss of this dream and he has 18 years of missed birthdays and christmases to make up for the least he can do is listen to her. ]
Yes, thank you, it was lovely. You can punch him if you'd like. [ a gesture at alexander getting to his feet finally. ]
no subject
had to change things up a bit. he doesn't even stop walking though, falling right back into step with her. ]
Don't get used to me just listening to you so blithely.
[ it wouldn't always happen like this. ]
no subject
[ which is funny
because it's a dream.
she's already changed the past -- if only -- so clearly they don't have to conform to the strictures of reality. they could steal a boat, they could steal a car, they could blow up the bomb and the island and themselves. ]
We don't have to follow this horrid dream.
[ it's almost a realization. ]
no subject
[ goddamn dreams. at least he wasn't in stronghold this time. ]
What, are you just going to murder everyone because you can? Get some fucking stress relief out of this?
no subject
[ her dying, specifically, but logic dictates the same thing would happen in this dream. blow up the island, blow up the dream, wake up. they shouldn't even feel anything. except gaby isn't exactly suicidal, even in a dream, nor is she particularly murderous so it sounds more like she is convincing herself. ]
Unless you can think of some other way to wake us up.
no subject
[ he motions at the group of people that have converged on them. the two that he's punched, her father, and anyone else. ]
Anything specific that maybe this fucking dream's waiting for to happen? I don't know how to get out of something but mine seemed to end when the Envoys found us.
[ and someone had shot her, sure. ]
no subject
[ victoria murdering her father wakes gaby up. despite knowing it already happened, that isn't something gaby actually wants to keep reliving. she would prefer to wake up literally any other way.
the irony of waking up from his dream in a very similar manner is not lost on her. ]
no subject
[ wouldn't change what happened in reality but it would stop her from reliving it. ]
I don't mind.
no subject
but asking kovacs to kill someone for her, or accepting his offer, feels too far. she did not ask to dream about an ethical and existential crisis. ]
No, thank you. It'll be over soon.
[ a matter of minutes, really. that decided, gaby heads down the path after her father, toward the dungeons where the bomb is held. ]
no subject
[ it's just a fucking dream. maybe they could walk away, go somewhere else, let it play out. ]
You don't need to punish yourself.
no subject
he's not wrong, she is punishing herself. called out. ]
It wouldn't bother you?
[ she gestures idly at victoria but she can't seem to verbalize "killing her" even if that is obviously what she means. ]
no subject
[ far from it.
he shrugs. ]
It wouldn't bother me. You want me to do it, I'll do it.
no subject
[ literally has already seen him kill people. and she assumes, that his father was the first person he killed based on everything she has learned about him so far. that doesn't mean she wants to be the reason he kills someone else. in a dream. when she is already dead in reality.
puffing out a sigh, gaby nods. ]
Yes, then.
no subject
Just tell me when there's going to be an opening. I'd do it in front of everyone but that just seems uncouth.
[ yes, he knows that word. he shoots her a look and winks. ]
no subject
Yes, we wouldn't want that.
[ she starts moving again, aiming to head halfway down the corridor and pause, waiting for victoria in the dim light. ]
no subject
No, we wouldn't want that at all.
